With the promise of spring right around the corner, it's time to start spreading all of that colorful, bright, springtime cheer with all of our friends and family!
What's a better way to celebrate the blossoming daffodils and wildflowers than with a beautiful cookie resembling one of the flowers that most represents spring: the pansy!
Nothing reminds me more of spring than these purple-and-white flowers. They're always the very first flowers in my mother's garden to peek their pretty faces out from the soil. They'd also blossom along the walkway, and on the edge of the woods in our backyard. When I was younger, I was especially fond of the teeny wild pansies, because they looked like little flowers for fairies.
Decorating cookies with royal icing is definitely a skill that takes a bit of practice, but once you've nailed it, your cookie-decorating horizons hold a very creative future. There's just so much you can do once you've mastered this mesmerizing technique.
These pansy and leaf cookies may look complicated, but once you see the steps, you'll realize how easy they'd be after some practice! These would be so perfect for your spring parties, and absolutely precious to wrap up in cellophane and include in Easter baskets!
When would you serve these adorable flower cookies?
