Many people who dream of having kids imagine themselves with both boys and girls. Often, when parents have two boys in a row or two girls in a row they try for another child, hoping for the opposite gender.
For the family in the video below, their third try for a girl didn't quite work out — they had a third son. After becoming the happy parents of three rowdy little boys, they desperately wanted a daughter.
The parents knew the boys would love having a little sister, so they tried once again. When they found out they were pregnant, they were thrilled. Hoping that this time it would be a girl, they were anxious going into an ultrasound.
When the ultrasound started, though, the doctor told them there was something surprising in her womb: three fetuses.
That's right, Mom was pregnant with triplets! Although they were only planning on having one more child, this family was quickly about to go from five to eight.
Moments later, though, their unexpected news turned bad — one of the babies was threatening the lives of the others and risking the entire pregnancy. The parents weren't willing to lose any of the babies, so Mom went into labor early, hoping all three babies would survive.
Luckily all three babies were born healthy. After stays in intensive care, they were allowed to go home and meet their older brothers. Although they got a little more than they bargained for, these parents finally got what they were originally hoping for: a daughter.
