The year was 1994. The event was the World Music Awards. And for the first time on international TV — and for the first time with his wife — Patrick Swayze danced with Lisa Nieme to the song "All The Man That I Need" as a salute to pop music icon Whitney Houston.
This was just a handful of years after Dirty Dancing was released. Patrick Swayze was hotter than ever, so this performance was a huge deal at the time. Watching it back since he passed away in 2009 makes the clip even more powerful. With their effortless, sultry movements, it's clear Patrick and Lisa shared an incredible bond. It was no secret how much he loved her, and how that love never wavered during their 34-year marriage. The couple first met in 1970 when Swayze was 18 years old and Lisa was taking dance lessons from Patrick's mother.
Did you notice Whitney Houston in the audience clapping wildly after this performance? If you didn't catch it the first time, make sure you go back and do so — what an amazing moment between these two angels!
