People who use wheelchairs in their day-to-day lives face unique challenges. Not only is it physically tiring, it can also be emotionally difficult.
Many differently abled people find that the world isn't exactly suited to their specific needs. For example, there aren't always wheelchair ramps, elevators, and other items necessary for mobility.
Unfortunately, not everyone finds themselves blessed with people in their lives who can help them out when they need it.
Luckily, some people are able to find strength in their communities, like this woman who had a wheelchair ramp built by complete strangers.
Another man who is in a wheelchair also found out that strangers can truly change lives. Last year, he posted a photo of himself out of his wheelchair, and it got enough likes to reach the front page of Reddit.
After he shared the picture, two photographers reached out to him to offer a free photo shoot. He reluctantly said yes — and it's a good thing he did, because the photo session changed his life.

He explained what happened on Imgur, writing:
Over a year ago I posted a picture of myself out of my wheelchair despite my insecurities and it made it to the front page.
Two lovely people contacted me from Reddit to do a photo shoot out of the kindness of their hearts.

This was the original picture that got everyone’s attention. It was very important to me because growing up with a physical disability left me with a lot of insecurities about my appearance.
This photo was one of the few times I saw myself as normal and felt genuinely attractive.

This is Bridgette and Jared.
They reached out to me when I posted the original picture because they wanted to do a photo shoot of me.
I was a little taken back by the offer because I never thought of myself as somebody that would do a photo shoot.

I’m not a model by any means. I just see myself as some crippled guy that spends a little too much time on the internet.
But they told me that everyone deserves to have pictures of themselves that they can be proud of and love, and I'm no exception.

So we planned for a long time to meet up.
They have been traveling across the country for a while now just because they can, and meeting up with me gave them the motivation to probably make the trip.
And I'm really happy they did because meeting them was a beautiful life experience.

Whenever I explained the situation to people before they came out most of my friends thought that I was going to get murdered by a crazy couple from the internet, because who offers to do something so wonderfully kind without anything in return?

But that’s exactly it.
They were easily some of the most incredible people that I have gotten to meet firsthand.

I was really nervous about it at first, but I like to put myself in situations that bring me out of my comfort zone because that’s how you live life and make stories to tell.

They gave me so much more than just beautiful pictures of myself.
They reminded me that we can be so much more and we all can make an impact on each other in a very positive way.
They are amazing people and deserve nothing but love.
