When soldiers come home after a long time abroad, they obviously miss all the friends and family they left behind and haven't seen in many months. It's a hard time for everyone involved, making family reunions much sweeter and more emotional. We can't imagine what waiting that long for someone is like — especially if it's for a parent!
Parents in the military often want to surprise their children to make their homecoming one to never forget. One soldier dad found the perfect way to give his daughter the shock of a lifetime while she was sitting in class at Manchester Township High School.
Student Amaris Butler was sitting in class, just like all the others when a line of cops filed into the room. The assumption was probably that someone there was in very big trouble, judging by the teens' faces. But when the last man walked in, Butler recognized his face: He wasn't wearing a cop's uniform, but a soldier's. It was her dad, SGM Harrington Henry. So that's why all the cops had their cameras out!
Now watch the clip to see the touching reunion on camera…
