Mom Sums Up ‘Parenting In A Nutshell’ When Daughter Forgets Her Poster Board At Bus Stop

Being a mom isn't easy. It's tough to juggle everything your kids need handled and also have time for yourself — especially when the needs of your children always come first.

I remember so many instances in elementary and middle school when I would completely forget about a project until the last minute. But without fail, my mom or dad would always scramble to help me get it done.

One mom blogger recently dealt with this situation, but it quickly devolved into a wacky story. Rachael Pavlik shared her silly back-to-school tale on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.

As it turns out, so many parents can relate to the aggravation of a last-minute school-supply scramble and the aggravation of their kids' forgetfulness!

The mom of two lives in Houston with her husband, son, and daughter.

On September 19, 2017, Rachael shared a photo of a lone poster board sitting on her lawn on the Facebook page for her blog. But the story behind the random image is hilarious.

In a lengthy post written almost freeform-poetry style, Rachael summed up the events of the rogue poster board as "parenting in a nutshell."

Rachael's 11-year-old daughter Camille rushed to her one night, informing her mom that she needed a poster board for school the next day.

Seeing as it was 9 p.m., Rachael wasn't exactly thrilled at this last-minute development. She wondered when her daughter had planned to tell her about the need for the poster board.

As Camille got frantic, Rachael did what all moms do best: She handled it like a pro.

Driving first to one CVS Store and seeing that they didn't have the necessary white poster board, the dedicated mom drove to a second store.

She finally tracked down and bought the poster board, returning home triumphantly to give it to her daughter.

After many warnings to take proper care of the poster board — rolling it up and keeping a rubber band around it — Camille got onto the school bus the next morning. Unfortunately, the lonely poster board was left behind.

Rachael closed out her post with her "inner monologue" during the aggravating discovery:

I’m so glad she got her poster board. Whew. Crisis averted. I’m winning at this mom thing  Yay me. Hero. I’m the best. I’m going to go on a walk today. Beautiful day feeling good. Stretch. I’m walking. Turn the corner where the bus stop is.. Bus came. Kids are gone. Everyone gone. Except this. This. HER G@#%!?#% POSTER BOARD.

Rachael also shared updates within the post, including a photo of Camille hugging the poster board when she got home from school that same night.

"REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO… GOOD?" Rachael captioned the photo.

The mom blogger also shared a selfie Camille took while holding the poster board on the bus the next day, confirming that it did finally make it to school.

"This was the next day on the bus. POSTER BOARD MADE IT INSIDE THE SCHOOL," she wrote alongside the final photo update.
