We’ve all been there, right? You’re sitting in a sweltering hot room filled to the brim with equally exhausted people, that program you folded into a fan isn’t providing enough of a breeze, and to top it all off, the battery charge on your phone is low.
It’s just too much. In a fit of admirable bravery — or, perhaps, frustration — you abruptly jump out of your seat and leave the ceremony before it’s even finished.
At least, that’s what I think went through Philip’s head when he decided to bail out of his own preschool graduation. In this short, yet adorable, clip, a little boy sitting in the front row suddenly abandons his seat when he seems to think the speaker has dismissed the miniature graduates.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case, and an adult soon leads Philip back to the stage. He’s all smiles, though, and quickly retakes his chair for the remainder of the ceremony.
Little kids are constantly stealing the show from adults trying to stick to the status quo. Remember the girl who snuck up behind a news reporter during a live broadcast? Or the little boy in stitches when his teacher played guitar?
Sometimes, all it takes is a little laughter and impromptu interruptions to remind us of what’s really important in life: very short speeches. Also, happiness.
You have to give Philip credit for trying here, though! Heck, I’d do something like that now if I could.
