These Puppies Got Caught In A Terrible Fire. What The Paramedic Did? I’m Crying!

Fires are terrifying forces of nature that can destroy lives — and not just human lives. Unfortunately, the lives of many animals have also been claimed by fires.

It's frightening to think about the devastation caused by fires, but consider how much worse it would be without the incredibly courageous men and women of firefighting squads around the world. Here in New York, we call the NYFD "New York's Bravest," and they truly are our bravest citizens.

Usually, when a 911 call regarding a fire is placed, there's another set of heroes who arrive on the scene, though they may not get as much attention: paramedics and EMS crews.

Should the fire departments need help resuscitating victims, these emergency medical services personnel are prepared to do what they can to save the lives of our fellow citizens.

Jim Greene is an Altoona, PA paramedic who rushed to the scene of a fire earlier this week and ended up saving not one…not two…but nine lives.

This included nine adorable, two-week-old puppies suffering from the side effects after inhaling smoke.

All nine puppies seemed to be OK, but one particularly tiny puppy seemed to be lethargic and was having difficulty moving.

The fire crew brought the puppy over to paramedic Jim Greene, who placed the pup in an oxygen mask especially designed for puppies. He rubbed the puppy's chest until he coughed up some black soot and began to come around.
