Being a parent to multiple children and a pet is a job that deserves a few pairs of extra hands and eyes. It is nearly impossible to keep tabs on all of them at once, and the odds that they are all together in the same room behaving like angels are pretty much slim-to-none.
It is definitely not uncommon for children — especially sneaky toddlers — to get themselves into trouble in the few minutes you take your eyes off of them. Just take the little girl who wound up covered in paint or the little boy who got creative with mom's mascara for a few examples. But this innocent action by a 2-year-old almost cost this family their new pet.
After only having precious Penny the Boston Terrier pup for a few weeks, one dat, Christine Edwards realized that she had gone missing.
After checking every room and possible hiding spot, Ms. Edwards' stomach dropped when she heard the sound of the dryer going.
When she got the dryer open, she found that Penny had been locked in the dryer for a full 30-minute cycle! Poor Penny was just barely alive; Edwards immediately rushed her to the vet.
Luckily, after a few very scary days, Penny made a full recovery and began acting like her puppy self again shortly thereafter.
Ms. Edwards says that Penny is a miracle who she will never let leave her side again!
