The EPA estimates that 75 percent of solid waste is recyclable, yet only about 30 percent is actually recycled. That's a lot of unnecessary waste.
In a crowded Quebec mall, a fascinating experiment, led by a French Canadian variety show, staged and conducted in the name of recycling awareness. If you leave a plastic bottle on the floor, how many people will actually pick it up and place it into the nearby recycling bin?
Many people just walked right by the bottle and didn't think twice. One by one, mall shoppers pass by without so much as a second glance — that is, until one good-hearted person noticed the bottle laying on the floor of the food court, picked it up, and dropped it into the recycling bin. Just as she was about to go on her merry way, a mob of strangers forms around her and begins to cheer her on, celebrating her simple yet heroic act of kindness.
I love how triumphant and joyful this surprise is, and what a positive message it sends. Even the smallest acts can leave a huge impact on the world around us. Please SHARE this great video with your friends on Facebook!
