Every single dog that graduates as service dogs from Canine Assistants' has a story to tell — but for one dog in particular, it's not the life he led previously that's amazing, it's who he is named after.
That dog is named Creed, who's namesake was a young boy near and dear to the Canine Assistants family's heart. Creed battled illnesses throughout his young life including pre-leukemia, chromosomal issues, and bone marrow transplants. To help him during those difficult times, his parents went to Canine Assistants and brought a beautiful dog named Casper into Creed's life when their wasn't much life left.
According to Casper's parents, the two bonded instantly and Casper gave their son the much needed comfort he needed during this rough time.
When Creed finally succumbed to his disease, Canine Assistants wanted to honor the boy and keep his memory alive, so the best way they knew how was by naming a new puppy after him. That puppy just graduated from the service dog program and will help a young girl who is battle neurological disorders.
What an amazing when to honor a boy who brought so much life to people's lives.
