A rescue dog returned the favor by saving an entire family from a fire.
Teddy the dog, who had only been in the Stewart home for five hours, came into mom Kelly Stewart's bedroom at around 2:00am, standing there and barking until Kelly woke up.
“I heard him by the bed and I said, ‘Teddy, what’s going on?’ Of course he can’t speak but I knew there was something wrong,” Stewart told news outlets. "So I turned the light on and saw the smoke.”
Steward and her family, including her two children, were able to escape their home without any injuries, all thanks to Teddy, who they were dog sitting for at the time.
Two years ago, Teddy was rescued by a relative of Stewart's.
