Patricia Tillman was at home one night in Deltona, Florida, when her doorbell rang. Nothing could have prepared her for the scene that was about to unfold.
A 33-year-old mother stood outside Patricia's home and rang her bell several times. The mother, whose name is Melissa, stood on the porch with her 3-month-old son, who was in a car seat.
Apparently, Patricia's daughter is dating the baby's father, whom Melissa recently broke up with — but Patricia and Melissa do not know each other.
Melissa told Patricia she could not take care of her baby and tried pushing the car seat through the door. The distraught mother even threatened to throw the infant in the trash if she had no other options!
As if all this wasn't troubling enough, Melissa reportedly told Patricia not to touch her son because he had a scabies infection.
Melissa left, but not before advising Patricia that the baby's father would come pick up the poor infant … but he could not be reached.
Before calling 911, Patricia realized the baby boy was abandoned with a soiled diaper and soiled baby wipes, an empty bottle, and some formula.
The disturbing incident was captured on Patricia's Ring doorbell camera.
Police eventually located Melissa and arrested her. As for her 3-month-old son, he is now reportedly in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.
