Did you know that wolves can change rivers? I had no idea that a predator like a wolf actually has a great affect on rivers and the rest of its environment. This completely fascinated me!
This is exactly what happened when the gray wolf was reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park after a 20 year absence. For years, conservationists have known that eliminating a top predator can deeply disturb an ecosystem, but I haven't seen more obvious proof until I watched this video. What happened when the wolves were back in the ecosystem completely surprised me. The overwhelming elk population became more controlled, the food chain became more balanced, and restructured where the animals lived. Plants and other species flourished and slowly, balance became restored. Please SHARE this fascinating video.
