Ever since her breast cancer diagnosis and announcement in 2015, Shannen Doherty has been nothing but a source of inspiration.
This video posted by Entertainment Tonight shares an update on Shannen’s ongoing health journey and gives an inside look at how things are going for the actress with her latest cancer treatments.
In June 2023, Shannen shared on her Instagram page that cancer cells had spread to her brain. ET showed video footage taken from the star’s social media which shows her lying down and getting fitted with a facial radiation mask for her radiation therapy treatments. Shannen can be seen looking teary-eyed during the procedure as someone in the room tells her that the “hard part” is over.
In her emotional post on Instagram, the 52-year-old explains that she is “extremely claustrophobic,” which obviously makes radiation brain therapy a difficult procedure for her to endure since beginning in January 2023.
She leaves the post on an honest and vulnerable note by saying: “But that fear… The turmoil… the timing of it all… This is what cancer can look like.”
ET also reports that in April 2023, Shannen filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years, Kurt Iswarienko. Earlier in the year, she also shared that she had lost her actors' union health insurance due to the stigma of working while being treated for cancer.

“You get written off so quickly, even though you’re still vital and healthy and happy and wanting to go out there and work,” Shannen explained in an interview.
