After being rescued and put into a shelter, a scared little puppy named Harvey patiently held out hope that he'd find his new forever family. The timid dog may not have been the first choice for most families, but when he met a little girl named Abby, everything changed!
In the video, Harvey is taken to a small room, where he's introduced to Abby and her parents at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. The shy dog seems a little scared, but as soon as Abby holds out her hand, it was love at first sight!
The rescue dog's tail begins to wag and the dog goes right to the kindhearted little girl. She can't stop smiling, as she hugged him and held him tightly in her arms. You can tell these two are going to be best pals growing up.
"Welcome to the family little guy," Abby's dad says in the video.

Every year, 6–8 million animals in the U.S. are left at animal shelters, and half of them must be euthanized because of animal overpopulation. If your family is thinking about adding a furry member, talk to them about adopting a companion animal from a shelter.
