Everyone Thought Living In A Silo Was Crazy. But When They Saw The Results? JEALOUSY

I thought I was pretty clever when I purchased a bed that had drawers built into it and beneath it. It fixed the storage problem in my first New York City apartment, where I had a minuscule room and a barely two-foot closet.

I'm frequently amazed how people in the Tiny House Movement are able to turn their lack of space into a surprising benefit for their house. It forces architects, builders, and designers to be creative with the limitations they have been given. I've seen architects do amazing things with tree houses and even triangle-shaped land plots.

Architect Christoph Kaiser made one of the most unbelievably gorgeous tiny houses we've seen when he turned an old, dismantled Kansas silo into a gorgeous, modern studio for himself in Phoenix, AZ. I would have thought it impossible, but this dramatic transformation is just a small example of his incredible ability to build and transform spaces,

It's an incredible design job. Please SHARE if you love incredible tiny houses like this!

The 1955 corrugated steel silo doesn't immediately seem like an inviting, comfortable place to live.

But that's the appeal to a mind like Kaiser's.

According to an article on Dwell.com, he purchased the silo from a farm in Kansas and had it transported to Phoenix.

The house is now located in the Garfield Historic District of Phoenix.

You may notice the lack of windows, aside from the sliding door. Natural light might be a concern for a resident...

...so the top of the silo has been converted into a skylight.

The exterior is rustic and has a "country" vibe to it.

And when you step inside?

It feels surprisingly expansive.

This bi-level studio has ample room for two people with a lofted bedroom...

...and ample dining room, kitchen, and living room space.

Kaiser fabricated every aspect of the house, including doors, windows, and this staircase.

The wood in the house comes from scrap plank wood, and he added black metal touches throughout as well.

The house is able to accomplish both "spaciousness and simplicity."

I'd move there in a second.
