Simone Biles won her third consecutive U.S. Championships title at the P&G Gymnastics Championships on Saturday. She brought the house down with an amazing floor routine.
With her red and white leotard glittering under the lights, Biles took her place for her floor routine. The 18-year-old gymnast showcased a difficult routine of acrobatics mixed with high-flying tumbles. The crowd roared with delight as the 4'9" gymnast hit almost every mark with precision!
Like the trio of Russian gymnasts that blew away the audience at the 2010 Acrobatics Gymnastics World Championships in Poland, Biles continues to amaze and surprise everyone with the superior difficulty of her routines.
The choreography covers the entire floor as she showcases jumps, leaps and pivots. It's truly a sight to behold as the pint-sized athlete is propelled into the air, completely defying gravity!
"I just keep surprising myself, I guess!" Biles said after beating second place Maggie Nichols by 4.950 points. (Gold medal-winning 2012 Olympians Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas were third and fifth respectively.) She joins Kim Zmeskal as the second U.S. gymnast to earn three national titles. Biles has become an unofficial Olympic frontrunner for next year's Games in Rio.
