Young Boy Loses It When His Military Dad Surprises Him

While service members often feel the pain of being away from home, their loved ones suffer through the distance right along with them.

That's why reunions between military members and their families are often filled with a whole bunch of tears and warm embraces. They are even more emotional when children are involved, especially ones who can't hide their excitement.

For example, it's hard not to smile when watching a little girl break protocol to run across the room to greet her father after an eight-month deployment. Same goes for the military captain who tearfully reunited with his loved ones onstage at a country concert.

In the clip below, we see another young boy who wanted his father to come home more than anything. The clip opens with his mom hinting that Dad returned home from deployment by saying he has a message for the little guy.

"I don't know if you're ready to hear it," she tells him. "It's a huge surprise, you know that. Guess what it is."

Moments later, his military dad sneaks up behind him. Through the young boy's very emotional reaction, it's clear just how much he missed his daddy.
