When Corey heard there would be a school assembly right before Veterans Day, he didn't think anything of it. To him it seemed like the typical end of the quarter awards ceremony that happen every nine weeks or so. But this time something was different and, unbeknownst to Corey, he was about to get the surprise of his life.
After all the announcements had been made and the last award was given, Corey and his mom were summoned on stage to honor his father who was fighting in Afghanistan for the upcoming holiday. Little did the boy know that his father, who he believed was returning from active duty in three weeks, was waiting out in the hallway ready to be reunited with his son.
Just watch and listen for the young boy's reaction when he sees his father. It's absolutely beautiful and quite the tearjerker.
