To most of us, driving is natural part of our routine. Some see it as a chore when we have to sit in traffic for what seems to be hours on end. Others, like myself, absolutely love driving around. My friends and I go on spontaneous road trips on the weekends, and it's always a blast!
But regardless of how you feel about driving, there are hidden and unknown dangers that can put our lives at risk — and the ones of our friends and family, too.
Of course, we rely on the safe practices of other drivers on the road, and we take our precautions by fastening our seat belts and keeping an eye on our surroundings.
But some terrible events simply can't be helped. Our bodies surprise us in all kinds of ways, and you may experience a medical emergency on the road without warning. This motorist was lucky there was a bus driver who noticed he was having a seizure, so he could be saved in time!
But one mom didn't have another adult around when she suddenly suffered a seizure behind the wheel on her way home from church.
Nicole's 9-year-old and 1-year-old sons were in the back seat of the vehicle.
The elder boy, Ben, noticed his mom's face when she turned around, and thought that she was just making funny faces to entertain his brother — but then, he noticed something amiss with her hands and feet: her hands weren't on the steering wheel, and her feet were off the pedals. The vehicle was moving at 35 mph, too.
That's when Ben jumped into action and grabbed the steering wheel, and now, he's credited for saving his family's life!
