Mom Sees Old Man Staring At Her Daughter In Walmart, Knows There’s ‘Something Special’ About Him

Katy Sursa had no idea that a 30-minute wait for her prescription to be filled at Walmart would change her life.

While Sursa and her daughter Emma, who was born with Down syndrome, were waiting for the little girl's prescription, they began talking to an old man sitting nearby. Right off the bat, she could tell there was "something special" about him.

He immediately told Sursa that Emma reminded him of his daughter, Cindy, who had died in 1964.

Cindy had also been born with Down syndrome and, like Emma, there was a hole in her heart as well.

While modern technology repaired Emma's heart, Cindy was just a toddler when she succumbed to her disorder.

The old man and Emma spent the rest of the wait playing games and laughing.

When it was time for the old man to collect his own prescription, he thanked Sursa for letting him spend time with Emma as it made him feel like he had Cindy back again.

Sursa is now on a mad search for the kind stranger.

Today, Emma is an active and thriving toddler. So when an old man told her she was beautiful at the Walmart pharmacy, she wasn't too shy to respond. The man then starting tell Sursa about his own daughter, a little girl named Cindy who died in 1964.

It turns out that the old man's own daughter was born with Down syndrome and a hole in her heart too. Without modern technology, his little girl didn't survive, but spending time with Emma made him feel like he had her back — even if it was only for a little while. After he walked away, Sursa realized she never caught his name, so she wrote a Facebook post about their meeting.
