A 14-year-old student, who was a caring and conscientious pupil, was enrolled at a high school in the Midwest. Her parents had always instilled in her a sense of empathy for her peers, so when she witnessed her math teacher say something completely unacceptable in class, she disobeyed school rules to get evidence of his wrongdoing.
It felt like an average day at school when the 14-year-old casually walked into math class that was taught by one of her favorite teachers. However, it wasn’t like any other day because when class began, her teacher started speaking to his students and using language that made them feel very uncomfortable.
As the teacher went on, there were even a few students who spoke up to tell him to stop using inappropriate language, but he wouldn’t stop, so the student decided to pull out her phone and record his words in order to get proof of her teacher’s offensive behavior.
According to NBC News, the Missouri student was suspended for three days after she recorded her teacher using a racial slur at Glendale High School in Springfield, Missouri.
The news outlet reports that in the video, which was approximately one minute long, the geometry teacher, who later lost his job, used the N-word two times.
