One mother had a slightly odd request for her Facebook friends. She needed help finding a 1967 Chevy Impala to surprise her son with.
Shannon Landry wanted to make her son Ethan’s 13th birthday extra special, and the Impala was necessary for doing that.
Ethan’s favorite TV show is Supernatural. On the show, the main characters drive around in a 1967 Chevy Impala to hunt demons and other supernatural creatures.
Because Ethan’s life has never been easy, ever since he was a baby and suffered a series of strokes that left him partially blind, Landry wanted this birthday to be big. He also suffers from epilepsy, autism, and cerebral palsy.
Doctors told Landry that she should give up on Ethan and told her to say her goodbyes, but she and her husband knew that their son would pull through.
Landry made a promise to herself that one day she’d throw a big party for Ethan, and after seeing how much Ethan loved this show, she knew that it was the perfect theme.
That is where the Impala comes in. It’s not a common car, and she needed it to make the party complete. Jim Lemay, the owner of a model of a car that is a replica of the Supernatural vehicle, got in touch with Landry.
“That’s why we bring it. Just to make people happy,” Lemay told WCSH 6 News. “I think he really liked it.”
