Suzanne Somers, even in her 70's, is continuing to fan the flames of her "living my best life" media firestorm, and she revealed in 2019 that she and her husband, Alan Hamel, have sex twice a day. The key? Twice-a-week shots of sexual stimulant peptide PT-141.
The alternative therapy is also known as bremelanotide or by its brand name Vyleesi, and is "typically used to treat low sexual desire in cases without an underlying medical or emotional cause," per Yahoo News.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Suzanne was quite jokey, noting,"I usually say I sleep through one of them. That's usually that one at 4 o'clock in the morning. But, you know, then again around 8 o'clock in the morning, I'm in the mood."
She went on to say, "I thought, ‘Wow, what a great thing.’ Because men have had Viagra, but this [is] actually a shot for both men and women that’s not a drug. It just stimulates that part of your brain that says, ‘Hey, I’m kind of in the mood.’ And so, isn’t that a wonderful thing? And it’s not a drug, so I love it."
Suzanne and her husband have been married since 1977, and they appear to still be going quite strong. They recently traveled to Las Vegas together, where Suzanne says he spent three days "wining and dining me."
While in Las Vegas, Suzanne spoke in front of a panel of doctors. Her caption read, "Last week at #RAADfest wearing my incredible yellow dress. I spoke to a fully packed audience of doctors who gave me a standing ovation."
Suzanne recently made waves by celebrating all 73 years of her life by posing naked in a field, or as she put it, "in my birthday suit." Fans were eager to celebrate the star and her zest for living, and her Instagram comments were filled with positive notes.
Suzanne's husband, Alan, recently celebrated his 83rd birthday. Alan has worn many hats in Hollywood, having worked as an actor, producer, presenter, and television personality. He met Suzanne when she was a model on The Anniversary Game, a game show he hosted.
As a survivor of breast cancer, Suzanne is passionate about her beliefs regarding the disease and hormone replacement treatment. She recently called on her followers for help, posting: "To all of my fellow advocates of BHRT, we are in a major push to help save bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) from being banned by the FDA. Daved Rosensweet, an excellent women's BHRT physician, will be testifying before the FDA-funded "independent committee" on the topic of BHRT one week from today. I am calling on any of you who are currently using BHRT to write a 1-2 paragraph testimonial about what the treatment has done for you to help maintain the availability of this treatment."
Suzanne and Alan seem to love traveling and truly enjoy celebrating one another. She often shares photos from their trips and from anniversary celebrations, like this snap from the night they celebrated the 51st anniversary of their marriage.
In another photo, Suzanne shared that she and "Al" were on their way to an event in Malibu, California. The event was supporting UNICEF.
Suzanne is also a regular on the network QVC, where she sells health, fitness, and beauty products. Most of her products are supplements designed to help with a wide variety of ailments and conditions.
Not one to shy away from sharing every detail of her life, Suzanne also shares photos of herself relaxing out in the open, like this shot from Palm Springs. Her fans love it. One commenter said, "YASSS, you go girl, 73 and STILL killing it."
There's no telling where time will take Suzanne, but we are almost guaranteed to be on the receiving end of many more colorful life updates. Suzanne's passion for living life is admirable, and her willingness to share details about all aspects of her life keeps us all entertained and having fun.
