Massachusetts dad Mike Richardson put his 6-year-old son in the backseat of the car like usual. The family began to drive home from a car wash when Mike made a mistake that definitely did not sit well with Robbie. Dad did the unthinkable. When a red light appeared, dad drove right past it. Robbie could not believe his daddy did such a bad thing!
When we're young and just learning about the world, right and wrong are pretty black and white. For a 6-year-old just learning about the law, the crime was inconceivable. Robbie knew he had to make things right, even if it meant ratting his dear old dad out. The little kid called 911.
"Um, Daddy went past a red light," Robbie confessed to the 911 dispatcher. "It was in the brand new car, my mommy's car."
The dispatcher then asked him to put his dad on the phone. Mike was quick to apologize about the mishap. As it turns out, things weren't so black and white after all. Mike actually made a legal turn on a red light, although from Robbie's point of view, it looked like his dad drove through it. The 911 dispatcher was pretty understanding, and we're sure mom and dad had a good laugh about it!
