Teen With Autism Starts To Sing And Surprises Everyone When He Sounds Just Like John Mayer

In a world where music has the incredible capacity to transcend barriers and bring people together, one heartwarming encounter at NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) showcased the extraordinary power of melody to transform lives. YouTuber guitaro5000, on a quest to find musical talents among random people, crossed paths with a young man named Ryan Woodward. What Ryan Woodward brought to the stage was magnificent.

At the beginning of his video, guitaro5000 whose name is Reginald Guilluame, explains why he tends to ask strangers to sing with him. He states, “When I ask total strangers to sing, part of the fun of it is learning more about who they are”. When Reginald met Ryan, he learned a lot more than he thought he would.

It turned out that Ryan was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old and couldn’t communicate or talk until he was 10 years old. Ryan learned how to speak in a very unique way. He would memorize song lyrics until they started to make sense to him. Ryan’s dad elaborated on Ryan’s music taste when he was memorizing lyrics.

“He listened to every single Beatles album for probably almost a year. And then all the Michael Jackson albums for six months. And then he just started memorizing albums, and he would just play them all night. He would go to sleep listening to them”. Even though talking didn’t come very easy to Ryan, playing musical instruments did.

Reginald didn’t know any of this when he met Ryan for the first time. When Reginald was asking for someone to come sing with him, Ryan walked up and suggested they sing Gravity by John Mayer. When I tell you … the voice that came booming out of Ryan gave me instant chills!

Without hesitation, Ryan brought his confidence forward, making people stop and watch to listen to him. I love the way that music can break down barriers, unlock hidden talents, and empower individuals to find their voice and their confidence. There are no limits to human expression and each note can bring us closer to understanding and connecting with one another.
