The Bronx Zoo Has TWO New Celebrities! You Have To See The Babies Everyone Is Talking About!

For the first time in 8 years, not one, but TWO baby lowland gorillas were born at the Bronx Zoo this year.

The Wildlife Conservation Society's Bronx Zoo was very happy to welcome two newborn western lowland gorillas this year – the first gorillas born at the zoo since 2006! Julia, 33,  gave birth first on March 10, and then 19-year old Tuti followed with her baby on April 17. The troop's silverback, 31-year old Ernie, is father to both babies. The Bronx Zoo's Congo Gorilla Forest is now home to 20 gorillas — the largest group of gorillas in North America.
