Do you love country music? Do you love your country? If so, this next video is definitely going to pull on your heartstrings.
In our lifetime, we will all have at least one soldier who we hold close to our hearts. For me, it's the most brave and brilliant woman I've ever met, and as soon as I began to hear the following song, I immediately thought of her.
The following ballad is from up-and-coming country duo Walker McGuire. On their website, the band says they come from the heart of the U.S.A., and you can definitely feel that patriotism and pride in the following powerful song, titled "They Call Me Doc." In the Marines, "Doc" is a nickname for hospital corpsmen or trauma medics who assist soldiers on the battlefield. It's also an incredible honor for these brave military men and women.
Walker McGuire enlisted the help of an unnamed Navy corpsman who saved the lives of many Marines who were badly injured in Iraq. His beautiful lyrics, along with Walker McGuire's music, made me shutter at every line. With words like "From bluegrass Kentucky / Red blood on my hands / Nobody calls me a hero / Except for my friends," this really makes you think about how soldiers are really treated by civilians.
Every soldier is a hero in my eyes — if you agree, please SHARE this powerful song on Facebook to show our heroes the honor they deserve!
