Third-Grader Walks Into Class To See Her Father After A Year Of Deployment

Spc. George Jones waited not-so-patiently in his daughter's third-grade classroom. He wasn't just coming to pick her up… this was the first time he would see her in an entire year. He's been deployed overseas as a National Guardsman for that entire time, and his daughter, Kyleigh, has deeply missed her father.

Kyleigh's mom tricked her daughter into thinking that she was coming to pick her up for a simple doctor's appointment. Little did the 9-year-old know that her father was standing right on the other side of the door waiting to give her the biggest hug ever.

As soon as the Kyleigh opens the door, you can see her just light right up! This is a thousand times better than a doctor's appointment… she even describes it as the best moment in her whole life. It's almost like she can't believe that it is real life, because she can't stop hugging her dad and telling him how much she missed him. When the whole class sees how happy their peer is, you can see that they realize how hard it was for her while her dad was away, and how appreciative of this moment they are, too.

The moment father and daughter are able to walk out of that classroom, hand in hand… it's just about the best thing. What she asks him on the way out proves that things are going to go straight back to normal!
