Tap. Tap tap. Tap.
With a furrowed brow and fire in her eyes, little Gigi studies her reflection intently as she stomps to the beat of a song playing only in her head.
She circles her plump arms out in front of her and rapidly stomps her feet, which are engulfed in her mom’s perfectly polished black dance heels. She trots alongside the mirror, watching as the bubble-gum pink rose on top of her caramel curls gently bobs and her white cotton dress, splashed with bright floral designs, sways with every movement.
Then she pauses dramatically and spins to face the mirror. She raises her arms to an almost prayer-like position, then circles her wrists in sync together a few times.
With a purposeful turn, she grabs the black and white sheer shawl lying on the wood floor behind her. As she grasps the cloth, she whips it above her head and around her shoulders.
She taps out a few more beats away from the mirror, then lets out an exclamation as she jumps around, twirling the scarf before attempting to fling it away from her.
With that, she takes a giant leap forward and begins prancing toward the mirror in rhythmic movements, raising and dropping her arms to beat.
She turns to her side and watches her reflection with pride as she forcefully dances out a few more steps before one last magnificent arm raise to signal her finale.
