A couple of weeks ago, Tom Bleasby was just an ordinary 18-year-old young man. But then, singer Jessie J came up with a fun idea for her fans. Using the Smule app, she recorded parts of her new single, "Flashlight," and left gaps for her fans to fill in the rest of the song with their own voices. The two recordings are then put together, making it seem like you and Jessie are actually singing together.
But now that the world has heard Tom's voice, he's become much more than just "some guy" among thousands that participated in the pop star's interactive singalong. This guy has the voice of an angel. A really, really talented angel. And now that his star-studded performance is going viral, millions of other people are finally hearing his amazing voice…including people who could give him a really good record deal.
It's not often you hear a cover of a song that's even better than the original. But just like this teen that brought the audience to tears with his version of Billy Joel's "She's Always A Woman," Tom really comes close to making us love his version even more than the one we hear on the radio. Even more amazing is that although this teen was a member of the choir in his church, he's never had a singing lesson in his life!
Since Tom uploaded the video, he's achieved fame nearly overnight. Not only are complete strangers messaging him to tell him how much they love his voice, but Jessie herself even posted the video on her page for the world to see. And better yet, the teen says he's been approached by a ton of people wanting to give him a career in singing, including a record producer who's worked with Beyoncé! Who knew that such a simple idea would completely change this young man's life?
I have chills down my spine from listening to Tom sing. Don't forget to SHARE his performance! The whole world needs to know about this young man's incredible talent!
