A couple from Bridge Creek, OK thought they were showing up to their property to do some cleanup work, but what they got instead was an incredible surprise.
Just days before, soon to be married Rhonda Watt and Jason Waters lost nearly all of their worldly possessions from a horrific tornado. Hunkered down in a storm shelter with the rest of their family, when the violent storm finally passed, they were heartbroken to find out that even their house had been thrown around like a child's toy.
Waters, a member of the National Guard for the past 14 years is used to seeing what nature's power can do. After serving three tours overseas, he's seen some horrible disasters, but now he's been forced to deal with his own.
Mere months away from their rustic/army-themed wedding, this couple was devastated at the total loss. But thankfully, a veteran nonprofit group heard about their story, and showed up to their destroyed house with a bit of a surprise.
When they received the present, they were overjoyed, the usually stern-faced Waters happily stating, "I need a break. It'll be great."
Though it won't fix everything right away, the couple is thankful for the thoughtful present, and happy that they made it through together, everyone in one piece!
This present showed them that there are things more important than material possessions. They'll be able to share a wonderful experience together, and in the end, it's our memories that are our most prized possessions and the greatest gifts we could ask for.
Please send your thoughts and prayers that this dedicated couple gets through their hardship as soon as possible!
And please SHARE their story with your friends and family!
