Moms have lots of things to think about after giving birth.
For some moms, one of those things is their placenta.
I imagine many moms don't even give their placenta a second thought after they've given birth, but there are actually lots of things you can do with a placenta post-birth.
Some moms like to eat their placentas, as many believe that its nutrients are good for mama and her new baby.
Other moms turn their placenta into a moisturizer.
But something I've never thought about recycling after giving birth is the umbilical cord.
Turning your umbilical cord into art may sound like the most innocent of things to do with it after giving birth, but some moms think it's pretty gross, and for good reason. The debate sparked up after one famous mom posted her umbilical cord art on Instagram.

Meet Rochelle Humes.
Rochelle is pretty famous over in the U.K. When she was younger, Rochelle was part of popular girl group "The Saturdays." Eventually, Rochelle married Marvin Humes, who was in the boy band JLS, and the two had their first daughter, Alaia-Mai.
But it was after the birth of the couple's second daughter, Valentina Raine, that Rochelle raised a few questions about how to use your umbilical cord after giving birth.
A little while after Valentina was born, Rochelle shared this image on her Instagram account.
It took me a few minutes to notice, but the "love" inside the frame is actually written with Rochelle's umbilical cord.
While on a podcast with her friend and fellow mom, Giovanna Fletcher, Rochelle brought up the umbilical cord art. It was sent to her by the people at Placenta Plus, a company that will turn your placenta into pills for you to consume.
Rochelle says she didn't even know that they were using her umbilical cord to make art, but she seemed pretty happy about the gift.
But online, some people thought the opposite.
Some pointed out that your umbilical cord is dead skin, and felt a little weird about having it hanging on the wall inside the home.
Other moms appreciated all the wonderful, important things that the umbilical cord and placenta do for an unborn baby, but weren't so keen on the idea of having it hanging up at home.
