With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we're starting to feel the pressure to plan the perfect night and to wow our significant others! Even though I'm without one myself, I still love getting into the spirit of the holiday — and then taking advantage of the discounted chocolate after it's over. But I never thought that hair could also help me get in the mood for love, and with this cute style, I'm ready to take my single self out!
The heart ponytail only requires a bobby pin, three hair elastics and some wax spray. Don't forget to brush your hair straight before starting!
First, gather your hair into a high ponytail and secure it with an elastic. Pull your hair toward your forehead to create more volume at front. Take a piece of hair from the back of the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic to conceal it, securing the end to your scalp with a bobby pin.
Wrap the second elastic three to four inches down the ponytail. Then, take a thin section of hair from the back, and pull it through the middle of the ponytail. Grab one edge of the elastic, and weave the thin section under it. Now it should poke over the elastic. Divide that thin section into two equal parts, and let them fall to either side. Now you can see the beginnings of the heart shape! Use some wax spray on these strands, and give them a little twist before bringing them together further down the ponytail. Use the final elastic to tie everything together!
