When US Airman David Sharpe returned home from deployment he was a far different man than when he had left home. He was violent, angry and depressed, and things were only getting worse. Sharpe had become suicidal and a friend suggested they check out a Pit Bull rescue organization. He expected to get a tough dog, just like himself, but what he got changed his life forever.
Cheyenne was a shy Pit Bull who had been used as a punching bag for fighting dogs. Sharpe said Cheyenne has physical scars from battle and he has internal scars. These two are different kinds of veterans, but there is no doubt that they are both heroes who ended up saving each other. I truly hope that the stories of these men can help others who are lost and suffering. I'm in tears over their beautiful friendship.
