Elderly people naturally run the risk of getting injured more often and more severely than young people.
This could be so because their bones become more brittle, they start losing their balance, or tripping on the sidewalk becomes more likely. When this happens, even a broken bone can spell "doom" for someone of a certain age.
So when 87-year-old Doreen Mann fell in her bathtub, she couldn't reach a phone and call for help. With a feeble voice, she tried calling out, but had no results.
The poor woman was stuck in the tub for four whole days before help arrived.
But if it hadn't been for a waitress named Sonia Congrave, she could have died there. Congrave noticed that Mann, one of her regular customers, hadn't come for her order of apple pie. So she called police to check on the elderly lady.
Thankfully, she left a door unlocked, and officers were able to rescue her in the nick of time!
Sonia Congrave is a waitress at a cafe. She has many customers, but knows one elderly lady very well.
Doreen Mann came to the cafe everyday and ordered the same items off the menu. So when she suddenly stopped coming to the cafe, Congrave noticed the absence and knew that something was wrong.
Congrave called police to check on the 87-year-old at home, where they found her in her bathtub. She had been stuck there for four horrendous days, not being able to move or call for help.
Thanks to the observant waitress, Mann is now safe and sound.
Now, the elderly lady has resumed her daily trips to the cafe to see her new friend — one who happened to save her life!
