Watch What He Does At 2:23… How Is This Even Possible?! I’m AMAZED!

Few performances have the arresting power and delicate captivation that ballet does, and its command of our attention for the precision and dedication with which it’s executed speaks to its value as a fixture of high culture.

That’s precisely the feeling in a new video for Hozier’s “Take Me To Church,” featuring the Ukrainian ballet’s Sergei Polunin, directed by photographer and imaginative contemporary artist David LaChapelle. The video is shot in a sprawling exposed space flooded with sunlight, and Polunin executes the choreography with serene elegance.

As Huffington Post points out, the bright, sun-soaked space stands in stark contrast to the moody vibes of Hozier’s song; it's truly a sight to behold. Polunin moves through the space with astonishing talent, and it’s tough to pull your eyes from the video.

We’re no strangers to the art of ballet here at LittleThings. Earlier, we reported stunning performances from Princess Mecca Romero and Chris Stanley to Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” as well as Diana Vishneva in Alberto Alonso’s Carmen Suite — both unparalleled performances in their own ways that speak to the importance of dance as an art.
