These days, couples are finding more and more ways to cater their weddings to their individual tastes.
A Wisconsin couple didn't think twice of their decision to wear athletic wear to their wedding. Alayna and Gunner Tripp, both 20 years old, were married in early September.
The bride and groom kept it traditional for their ceremony. When it was time for the reception in an open-air pavilion with their 80 guests, they decided to get comfy in a major way.
For the reception, the bride and groom changed into coordinating Nike tracksuits — his black and hers white.
"We just wanted to be comfortable," she told Inside Edition.
Photographer Sarah Gonzalez posted a photo of the two in their sweatsuits on social media. Both she and Alayna were surprised at how much negative backlash there was to their lighthearted decision.
"Please don't make this a normal thing," said one comment.
"I was a little bit worried that our older guests would be like, 'Oh, I don't know how I feel about that,'" Alayna shared.
"Everyone, all ages, thought it was so fun."
