His Granddaughter Keeps WISHING For Snow. What He Does? I’m Speechless!!

If you live anywhere in the Northeastern part of the United States right now, you're probably already hoping that spring comes and washes all the snow away. If you live in Boston, you're likely never to want to see a drop of the fluffy, white stuff ever again at this point. Either that, or you've already hopped on a plane down to Florida to escape this arctic blast that's been sweeping through for weeks.

Some folks, however, only wish they could see some snow this time of year. Four-year-old Sophia White, from outside of Baltimore, MD is one of those people.

Ever since she watched the smash hit Disney film Frozen, the little girl has been obsessed with the movie, even going so far as to memorize basically the entire thing.

Now, having watched Elsa and Anna traipse around in the frigid cold of Arendelle, all Sophia wants is a little snow of her own to make a snowman that she can name Olaf.

Unfortunately, the weather hasn't been cooperating with her plans where she lives. Her mother, Nicole Queen, told CBSNews.com this past week that she even called up the little girl's grandfather in Rhode Island to tell her how much his granddaughter has been dreaming of some snow to play in.

"I said I wish I could just teleport her up to you so she could at least just build a snowman," said Nicole. "That's all she's been wanting to do is build a snowman."

Allen Queen, Sophia's grandfather, lives in Rhode Island where, as you probably know, they have gotten more than enough snow to share this year.

"So the more I thought about it, it's like, you know what — I could do it," he told CBSNews.com.

And that's exactly what he did. Queen, a parts manager at a Pawtucket Harley Davidson dealership, packed the bed of his red pickup truck with snow, and hauled the load over 750 miles round-trip to surprise his granddaughter in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

And if you didn't already think Allen Queen is the greatest grandfather on Earth, keep in mind that he's already made this trip twice this winter.

"At first she didn't get it," Queen told CBSNews.com. "She didn't really know what it was – but then when she shoveled some out and she saw it and started playing with it — then it hit her."

That's a long way to drive with a truck bed full of cold snow, but Queen would do just about anything for his beautiful granddaughter. Having now seen Sophia create her snowman, and seeing the joy it brings to her face, he says he plans to make this a yearly tradition.

"That's what grandparents do," he said when asked if he was spoiling her. "It's in the contract."

What a beautiful story. If Allen Queen doesn't win Grandfather of the Year, I can't imagine who would.
