Upon first glance, TikTok user @brettbratt359 has an entirely normal — and beautiful — Christmas tree. But when she zooms in and says "I am literally freaking out" in a video shared on TikTok, it's clear why she is alarmed: there's a possum hiding in the middle of her Christmas tree. In her video, she explained that she had "no idea how this possum got in my house and up in my tree." She said she was trying to get him out of the tree but he was not having it, so she had no idea how to deal with the situation.
In the TikTok video, she asked for help, but many TikTok users had witty comments and jokes to share instead.
"Possum is wondering why you're in HIS house looking at him in HIS tree!" one TikTok user joked.
"Possum: 'ooooh girl thiss niiiiiiiice girrll'" another commented.
"Looks like the cat distribution system had a major glitch. ," one person joked.
"On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, an opossum in my Christmas treeeee ," another person commented.

The woman shared another video of the possum hanging out in her Christmas tree. She asked the possum how he got into her house and told him that he was "really cute" but she wasn't sure what to do about him being in her house.
People understandably had lots of questions, so the woman shared another video on TikTok explaining what happened in more detail. She explained that at the time, she was on her laptop after getting home from work and she heard a sneeze. She said she has three dogs and a cat, so she thought one of them was around. They weren't, so she looked around.
Because she didn't see anything, she went back to what she was doing. When she heard a mysterious sound again, she decided to look around and investigate. Eventually she saw a "giant grey breathing ball of fur." She decided to call her boyfriend, and his friends just laughed at the situation. Her boyfriend told her she could use gloves to try to remove the possum.
She said she tried to grab the possum and remove him from the tree, but he used his own paws to grip onto the tree, clearly not wanting to move. "It was just a lot," the woman shared.
After trying and giving up several times, the woman said that she essentially "[plucking] his fingers from the branch one at a time." This part of the process wasn't easy either because the possum fell on the ground then ran under a couch. He was very fast, and ran to different locations to hide multiple times, so the woman took a short break.
She eventually caught the possum by "tackling him like an NFL football player." "He was not mean, he was not aggressive. Yes, you guys, I did call animal control just to be safe," the woman shared.
He did have one major flaw though: he smelled awful. The woman said that she loves animals, so she would've considered keeping him if he had not smelled so bad.
TikTok users were amazed by this woman, with some saying that they can't even deal when there are insects in the house, yet alone a possum in the Christmas tree.
"I literally have left my house because a bee flew in one time," one TikTok user told the woman. "You belong on survivor."
Many TikTok users agreed that the woman was brave, and some wondered why her boyfriend and dogs did nothing to help. The woman later clarified that her boyfriend was out of state for work, and shared a another video to explain why the dogs didn't react.
One TikTok user commented: "All 3 dogs are fired. The boyfriend is fired. Even the cat-I expect some meows or some warning. Everybody is fired."
