It's always hard when children have to grow up without knowing one of their parents — Chassity Clark knows exactly how it feels.
Chassity grew up with her sisters and mom, but she never knew her dad.
She had always wanted to know more about her father, but her mom had withheld that information. Recently, she had a falling out with family on her mom's side, so she decided to take drastic measures.
Wanting to finally find out more about her family, Chassity decided to take a DNA ancestry test, which would tell her about her heritage.
What she found when the results came back absolutely stunned her — they weren't at all what she was expecting.
When she brought up the results to her mom, her mom had to tell her the truth about her dad; but Chassity never knew that her ancestry test would actually lead her to meet her father.

Chassity wrote about her experience on Twitter.
"So it's time to storytell on here about the past 7 days of my life… Sit around kiddos because it might be good," she wrote.
She explained that she'd been struggling with some of her family members for a while, so she decided to do a DNA kit.
"As soon as it arrived, I gave my sample and sent it right off," she wrote. "Results came in last Monday…….."
Chassity was unsurprised by most of her results, but there was one thing that shocked her: more European heritage than she expected.
Because she hadn't known about that part of her ancestry, Chassity decided it was time to bring up the issue of her father with her mom once again — maybe her mom knew something more about her dad that she hadn't revealed.
She sent a screenshot to her mom, asking for an explanation. Eventually, her mom revealed that she hadn't been truthful about Chassity's dad.
She even told Chassity what her dad's name was — so Chassity went online to look him up. She was stunned when she saw that he lived in the same state.
"First time in my ENTIRE life…someone who looks like me, " she wrote. "I knew it was him. So next is drumming up the courage to interrupt his life."
She eventually wrote him a straightforward message, explaining who she was and how he could contact her. Then she waited.
She wrote, "The next morning, Friday, I was anxious for a response. I didn't know if he even knew about me or [would] even accept I could possibly be his child."
But then she got this message.
Her dad had been looking for her for years; he wanted to know her as much as she wanted to know him!
She was clearly blown away by the message she got back from her father — the fact that he'd been looking for her for years made her feel loved and wanted.
In addition, she discovered that he lived only 20 minutes away. She was amazed that after all this time, her dad had been so close all along.
Chassity could have run into her dad at the grocery store and never even known!
Chassity and her father continued talking, and they planned to meet up. Finally meeting her dad was completely life-changing for Chassity.
The two were finally reunited and they — of course — took a selfie together! The resemblance, right down to the dimples, is striking.
While they were visiting, Chassity's dad also showed her some photos he had — of Chassity and a sister she never knew she had.
Chassity wrote, "The day I visited him he shown me his photo album. The pic in the middle is the only pic…of me."
Now that dad and daughter have found each other again, we hope they have a chance to catch up on a lifetime of memories!
