Being close to your family creates a bond like almost nothing else can. Whether we need a shoulder to cry on or someone to vent to, our parents and siblings will always be there for us.
When we get married and find our soul mate, we add to our small collection of people we can love and trust — but at the end of the day, it's our family that's always been there for us, and nothing can replace that. To commemorate this special bond and their new lives as married women, the five Walitsch sisters — Lindsay, Becky, Kelly, Cassie, and Jamie — decided to have a photo shoot in their wedding dresses.
After the last of the sisters, Jamie, got married, the five Walitsch girls got together in San Jose, California, and hired photographer Rachel Blackwell to photograph them in their wedding dresses. The idea, according to the sisters, was to thank their parents for their love and support throughout the years.

According to Rachel, Cassie pitched the idea to her six months before sister Jamie's wedding, and the whole thing just fell into place.
"She pitched me the idea about six months before Jamie's wedding, and we put the shoot on the calendar for one week after, like the day after she came home from her honeymoon," Rachel told BuzzFeed.
While the ladies all got ready in the house, the husbands were tasked with watching the kids.
For the photos, the sisters decided to wear the same shoes they wore on the days of their weddings.
The sisters had fun with their photo shoot, even going so far as to re-create this iconic scene from Friends!
The sisters used several props in their photo shoot, including an old Chevy truck, cups of Starbucks coffees, and framed portraits from their weddings.
"The mother of the girls loved them. She ordered some big prints for her house," the photographer told BuzzFeed.
While they were shooting, the girls reminisced about their wedding days and ceremonies.
The sisters made sure to take the photos as soon as possible, since they knew it was likely that at least one would be pregnant soon (and they were right — just months after the shoot, four of the five sisters were expecting!).
What a beautiful way to celebrate their marriages and sisterhood!
