Two volunteers from ReKindle, a non-profit charity, started walking the streets of Chicago passing out backpacks full of food, socks and toiletries to the city's homeless. They had no idea they'd meet Albert, a 66-year-old homeless man who was overjoyed with the gifts they brought him — especially because, coincidentally, it was also his birthday!
Albert told the two men that every year he went to see a movie on his birthday, because he never gets to go — but that this year he couldn't because he had no money. That's when, in addition to his new backpack full of necessities, one of the volunteers gave Albert the money to see a movie.
The tears of joy Albert has after receiving his gifts is enough to make anyone thankful for what they have.
