Korean Restaurant Creates Viral Food Trend With Flaming Dome Pizza

Living in New York, I'm no stranger to seeing some truly bizarre food trends come and go. The "cronut" seems like a million years ago compared to some of the more imaginative creative chefs who have come up with in the years since. I doubt any of us saw the raindrop cake coming before it hit American shores, but I know I totally want to try a bite of one before the next trend takes its place!

Which means I better hurry, especially considering the newest craze involves my most favorite food of all: pizza. There's no more universal food for even the pickiest of eaters than the classic combo of dough, sauce, and cheese. You can even tell a lot about a person by their go-to topping choices, one of the many reasons it makes for the perfect first date meal.

If you really want to impress your amour, though, you might consider taking them to this particular establishment for a slice of their "dome pizza." Sure, it might require a flight to South Korea, but I'm pretty convinced it will be worth it after seeing it in action in the video below.

At first, it looks like a big, plain lump of bread sitting in the middle of the table. Its dark color, created with squid ink, doesn't really help it seem all that appetizing. But then, suddenly, they set the whole thing on fire! The safe method involves lighting a thin layer of alcohol which, as it disappears, quickly heats the cheese and toppings within.

Take a look to watch the tastebud-temping moment she cuts into the dough.
