I love watching people work on something you can tell they're so passionate about, especially when the end result is a delicious treat!
My best friend's husband is always cooking up something, and whether it's sweet or savory, I know I'm going to love it. Us girls do our best to offer help throughout the process, of course, but we usually end up with the rewarding task of being the taste testers. Of course, we're both perfectly fine with filling that role.
After watching the video below, I would love to see him take a crack at this scrumptious cake! It's pretty complicated and detailed for a novice baker like myself, but someone who knows what they're doing would totally be able to follow baker Yolanda Gampp's steps in this installment of her blog, How To Cake It.
The inspiration for this sweet confection comes from one of nature's most refreshing delights: the pineapple!
In fact, Gampp patiently takes the time to tediously recreate the refreshing fruit's aesthetic in this amazing dish to the point where it's kind of difficult to tell the difference between it and the real thing.
She also makes sure to add a lot of humor and fun to the whole thing, inviting a few special guests to join her as she explains every technique.
Even if you're not quite on her talented level, like me, you'll definitely get a kick out of this fun video.
