Like most kids during the warmer months, 9-year-old Jasmine Lewis liked to ride her bike in the comfort of her suburban neighborhood. She never felt unsafe before. Then, one day, a creep tried to do the unthinkable.
A man with red hair pulled up in a car with tinted windows. He began to make lewd and obscene comments at the 9-year-old girl. She was terrified.
Thank goodness her big brother, Jaden, was just a few feet behind. The man tried to grab Jasmine and pull her into his car. Jaden started screaming at the man, who was scared off when he saw Jaden. The boy is only 10, but already a hero.
"I, like, try to make sure she’s safe with everybody," said Jaden. "I won’t let her go by somebody I don’t know."
Their mother Crystle Dixon is reasonably spooked. She is keeping a watchful eye on her children. Now, she escorts them to the bus stop that's less than a block away from home and only lets them ride right outside the house.
"The what-ifs are what scare me," Dixon said. "What if he had succeeded in grabbing her? Would I ever see her again, or what would happen to her? That’s the what-ifs."
All we can say is thank goodness Jasmine's big brother Jaden was looking out for his little sister!
