This Bird Has One Of The Most Important Jobs In The Tennis World. This Blew Me Away!

This comercial for Belgian beer company and Wimbledon sponsor, Stella Artois, highlights one of the unsung heroes of the famous tennis tournament. The "Perfectionists" series highlights the people (and animals) that secretly run the Wimbledon games and this video of Rufus the pigeon-scaring hawk completely blew me away.

The grass seeds on the very expensive Wimbledon grass court is like caviar to pigeons. They adore the grass and often fly down and interrupt the games. Rufus, a 6-year-old Harris Hawk, frightens the pigeons and saves the games every Wimbledon. Although Harris Hawks can be deadly, Rufus is trained to only scare the pigeons, not harm the innocent creatures.

This video was absolutely eye-popping. I've never seen such a fascinating and amazing bird. What a cool job description. Please SHARE this story!
