For those of us who enjoy singing and Broadway, it would be a dream if every day could be like a scene from a musical.
Because really, any day would be vastly improved by a little bit of song and dance and bad news wouldn't sound so bad if it was delivered via song!
Maureen St. Pierre used to be a musical theater actress. Now she is a grandmother who recently celebrated her 85th birthday. In passing, she once told her daughter that she wished every day was a musical.
Her daughter, Danielle, remembered that wish and spent months planning the perfect surprise for her mother's birthday.
And, on her birthday, Danielle was able to completely surprise her mother. She told her to meet her at a specific location, explaining to her mom that she wanted to get a nice photo before her birthday dinner.
When Maureen showed up, a lot of photos were taken, but not at all for the reason she thought! Waiting for her was a giant flash mob.
The group performed a song from Hello, Dolly! and Maureen was in tears as soon as she realized what they were doing. But she didn't cry for long, because once a musical theater actress, always a musical theater actress! She quickly hopped up to perform with them.
