To make these DIY party poppers, you just need a few inexpensive items: a paper towel tube or a few toilet paper tubes, balloons, tape, and as much colorful glitter and confetti as you'd like.

If you are using a paper towel roll  as in the picture  cut it into thirds. If using a few toilet paper rolls, simply cut a little off of the end.

Make sure that each piece is about three and a half inches.

Grab one of your bold and bright balloons and cut off the top.

Using your thumb and pointer finger, tie your balloon at the end.

Grab the bottom, and pull tightly to create a secure knot.

Carefully stretch and place the large end of the balloon over the end of one of your tubes.

Secure the balloon with a piece of patterned tape (an easy find at your local craft store).

Next, fill the tube up with plenty of glitter and confetti — no need to be stingy here!

Grab another balloon and cut off the top  just as you did earlier.

Again, make a knot and pull the remaining balloon taut.

As before, attach the balloon to the tube, and secure it with tape, making sure all of the glitter stays inside the popper.
